Terms of Use
What this site is, what it is not, how affiliate links work, and the limits of what you should rely on here.
1. What this site is
maplebirdhouse.ca is an independent publication about online casino games and Canadian gambling regulation. It is operated by MapleBird. We are not a gambling operator, a regulator, a provincial lottery corporation or a licensed supplier, and nothing on this site is an offer to gamble.
2. Age and eligibility
This site is intended only for people of legal gambling age in their province of residence — 19 in Ontario, British Columbia, Saskatchewan, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Prince Edward Island and the three territories; 18 in Alberta, Manitoba and Québec. If you are under that age, please leave.
3. Information, not advice
Everything here is general information. It is not legal advice, financial advice or tax advice, and it is not a recommendation to gamble. Whether a given gambling service may lawfully be offered to you depends on where you are, and that is your responsibility to establish before you deposit anywhere.
4. Accuracy
We take accuracy seriously and correct errors when they are pointed out. Even so, regulation changes, operators change their terms and pay tables without notice, and pages can go stale between reviews. The operator’s own published terms always take precedence over anything summarised here. Every page shows the date it was last reviewed.
5. Affiliate links
Some outbound links are affiliate links. If you open an account through one, we may receive a commission from the operator. This is disclosed in a visible panel on every page that carries such a link, and each link is marked with rel="sponsored nofollow". It does not affect what you pay and it does not affect what we write. Our editorial policy is set out on the about page.
6. Third-party sites
We do not control the sites we link to and are not responsible for their content, terms, availability or conduct. Following an outbound link means that site’s terms and privacy policy apply, and ours stop applying.
7. Limitation of liability
This site is provided on an “as is” basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, MapleBird is not liable for any loss arising from use of this site or reliance on its contents, including gambling losses. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation. Nothing here affects your rights under applicable Canadian consumer protection legislation.
8. Intellectual property
The text, layout, code and original graphics on this site belong to MapleBird. Product names, logos and screenshots of third-party software remain the property of their respective owners and are reproduced for the purpose of identification, review and commentary. Nothing on this site implies endorsement by, or affiliation with, any operator, studio or regulator named.
9. Acceptable use
Do not attempt to interfere with the site, scrape it at a rate that degrades it for others, or reproduce substantial parts of it without permission. Quoting a passage with a link back is welcome.
10. Governing law
Publisher: state the governing province before launch. These terms are governed by the laws of the applicable Canadian province and the federal laws of Canada that apply in it.
11. Changes
We may update these terms. The current version is always the one on this page, last reviewed .
12. Contact
Publisher: have these reviewed
These terms are a solid, honest starting point written to match how the site actually operates. They are not a substitute for review by a lawyer practising Canadian gaming and consumer law, and they need your legal entity name, registered address and governing province filled in before launch.
